In terms of a one night stand it may suffice but there should not be too many conflicting feelings or traits or else it becomes a turn off.
Chemistry is sort of a vague.
It can be merely a feelings based on or preconceived lust, like or attraction.
Physical, sexual and emotional connection, compatibility plus the ability to fuel and maintain the lust or drive are essential for a long term relationship.

Having an attractive looking person which you have no overall attraction to as a person or partner will not cut it long term.
If you are referring to a person whom you are attracted to and have great sex with but otherwise no other desire for them
will merely satisfy a short term lust. Until it wears off and gets spent.

Very much so. I've had great sex with men I'd never.... well.... it would have been a non-traditional relationship. Nothing in common, age gap... but VERY good and experienced teachers.

Great sex with an attractive partner happens to be near the top of the list.

 

When younger and single I was blessed (or cursed) with a couple of extremely attractive partners. It did not make up for lack of a real connection, but did make me wish to have one.

But in general, sex with a less "objectively" attractive girl where there was a connection beat the heck out of sex with a knockout where there wasn't much of a connection.

I believe you need good chemistry to have a great explosion
You need to study hard to make or help a lady explode

 

You need balance.
Attractive and crap in bed is not fun.
But then the opposite side of that is just as bad.
Unattractive and great in bed would be scary.

You can have all the looks in the world!love the same movie, book, activities, laugh have fun together. You can have all that chemistry and the sex could suck​

 

Without some chemistry I doubt I would get that far with anyone
