I don't know if scammers is a fair term for it. But I don't appreciate a month of radio silence, after having claimed for 45 days now that the new update was content complete in terms of text and writing, which always takes the longest time.

That on top of a literal calendar year in which there were no new releases. The last new release, as in moving a changelog version forward, was on 10/31/23. I'm serious. Its been almost 14 months of no new releases for patrons. They released something unfinished early this year, and then decided to reorient how the engine works and its been nothing since.

So now we don't know what is going on. Supposedly we're just waiting for Victoria to finish the images. But I bet once that happens, they'll say they need to do testing and integration.

Its just a really shitty way to treat supporters. This is an HTML game, not something on a 3D Unreal Open World Engine. I don't think there is an excuse for it taking as long as it does. I support the project because I genuinely like and enjoy the game. But I can't pretend like there are no issues here.

New here? Every one and a half year, the same thing happens. Expect a patreon post mid January/start of February with something like "This last update, coupled with the holidays, gave me time to think. And now I know how to make FA better: With the [insert "catchy" name] plan. I will remake X thing and Y and everything will be better"

No haters here? Be honest.

You specifically don't seem to be down in the hole, at least not yet. There is an option to think that this is just a game and if there's an update you will play it, whenever or never if it dies.

Vast majority of everyone here are on the hook, addicted, and jonesing for their next fix. The wait turns a lot of people nasty: lashing out; imagining they could do better (some take action, to their credit); accusing the developer of lies and scams, ultimately introducing hateful poison you carry in your souls IRL.

But you're all still here. Their next update will never satisfy you. You like the dark.
I'm here because I loathe the people still giving this lazy goober money while everyone else has a 9-5. and because 2/3 of all games uploaded get abandoned and people will still defend developers after a literal year of being strung along and its irritating.

No, no. I don't want to say that Victoria is a saint or an angel, but I've seen too many cases of going from not liking to insulting a person for being a woman and calling her a whore or worse things.
I'll second this.

Those comments were sexist, classless, and they made me uncomfortable. Aside from the fact that this game is literally about a woman going off the rails in Thailand, I haven't seen any reason for thinking that Victoria is in any way responsible for the game's delays. The problem is that Crush would rather redesign a game from scratch over and over again than sit down and write a couple of hot scenes a month. It's not hair and shoes that have caused this project to grind to a halt.

Skill issue. Try doing what they do then report back on how easy it was for you.

You can thank me for this tip (to be a multimillionaire passive income dude) by giving me a Lambo.

Did you think they were born knowing how to be a game creator or did you think they had to learn and figure it out before they were successful?

Or maybe it's not so easy to be creative. Prove me wrong - all the other direct clones of this game stopped after a few releases despite ripping their work - but you can do it, buddy, let's go!

Wrong again. Blue Swallow has updated so many times this year that I've lost count. And it's a far superior game to FA for the mere reason that it actually exists, while FA after +7 years consists of various rough drafts that have all been trashed and a MOAB (lol) that no one has ever seen.

But Crush does occasionally post on Patreon with a cool picture to let everybody know how frazzled he is and that he'll get right back to it in the morning and it's all so exciting & hot!!!!!!

For his fanboys that may be enough to keep sucking his dick & singing his praises. But as another year draws to a close with no FA update and no progress whatsoever on Kate's ever elusive Bangkok whoredom, some of us are capable of recognizing a dumpster fire & grift when we see one.

Thanks, but you are an addict. You love this game more than it could ever love you.

I said 'direct clones', CassieBare is not using their game engine, afaict it's an American-based pixelart recreation. I wish them all the best.

Really obvious, but apparently necessary, for the hard of thought: if you don't like it don't pay for it. But maybe don't cry about in posts either.

Looks like they will drop an update late December. You will play it. You will goon and coom. And then Karen post here about how you paid fuck all and the developer didn't service your needs. Right? I, for one, look forwards to your impotent rage.

Enjoy their update, for free, so you can bitch about it, but also I wish a very Happy Christmas to you!

Dev update: coal for Christmas

Hey guys! I’m so sorry, I wanted to get the playable scene out to you before Christmas. I’ve been working desperately hard on it but it’s not ready

I’ll get back onto it either on the 26th or 27th, and you’ll be able to test it shortly after that.

I’ve also been doing some really important (and quite radical) design work on the Lifepath, but more on that soon. Sorry I couldn’t finish it in time for tomorrow, my original plan didn’t work out like I’d hoped, but the new approach is a lot better, I just ran out of hours. ☹

"if you don't like it don't pay for it. But maybe don't cry about in posts either."

Those who post these kind of stupidity feel proud after posting it? Honest question.

Let's be honest, even if someone dosn't pay for that product she or he is offering a service. When YOU offer a service the logic mindset is offering a GOOD service, be a porn game or whatever, and if your service is obviusly scamming Patreon bootlickers then anyone is entilted to complain.

Your mindset is of someone who would oppose reducing laboral hours because "well if you ain't a factory worker why would you complain, maybe don't cry about it!"

This guy is just a scammer, it's as simple as that. There's nothing complicated in developing this game, a random contributor on chyoa could write ten times what he's done till now in 3 weeks.
It's actually pretty impressive how he can keep people paying.
There should be a tag like "scam" or something, on the same lines as " "abandoned".

I will say that I don't think Crush started this game with the intent to scam people. The early progress and releases of FA were exactly in line with what one would expect for a solo, hobbyist creator. I do think that after their crowdfunding grew so massively they realized they were never going to be able to put something out that would satisfy people enough to stick around for a second attempt and have since been doing everything in their power to release as little as possible, as slowly as possible to string the pay pigs along.

Even if you write a single line of code per day; for 7 years; you would still have more to show than this dumpster fire that milks money out of people's pockets
